The Redesign Project focused on creating a new layout and design for the college library. This mood board shows my initial intentions and ideation of materials, colours and styles I wanted to use.
This second mood board that I did for the project shows another direction I explored. This was an autumnal theme to make for a more cosy space to study.
This small mood board shows some of the current interior trends I researched. I took these trends into consideration when designing for the library.
This was my final design for the project, a silent study cubicle with privacy to do work. I included the materials and colours i would use in the actual design.
This consolidation board brings together an idea of the furniture I would use, the different styles and colours.
This shows my final floor plan of my library redesign along side some of my primary imagery from the library.
These photos are from a small project I did with a local vintage clothing store taking pictures of their clothes.
I then took those pictures and tuned them into posters and magazine covers as ideas for promotions for the store.
This is a pattern i designed on Adobe Illustrator inspired by some art deco research i was doing. i continued to develop this by turning the pattern into a chair design and finally sampling it with disperse dyes on fabric.
Here i highlighted some of my research into the art deco movement including some of my favourite designs inspired by it. I also included my outcome to the project, a two headed flower lamp. This was made from repurposed materials, mostly from my home, and had two working lights with three interchangeable colour modes and a brightness adjustment setting to fit a mood.
For my New Perspectives project I started my research by looking at Japanese architecture and features and shapes within their buildings. From my initial research i did a simple design of a Japanese house.
During my development I looked into the Japanese art style, Kintsugi. I made samples of this using the lino printing technique.
This was my final design for the project, a candle holder of which the shape is inspired by the architecture of Japanese homes. The two images show how i had to develop this design after my first sample was unable to hold it's own weight.
This is a print design I create using Adobe Illustrator inspired by the architecture around Mansfield town.
My AllSaint's project is focused on Manchester and their architecture and heritage. I decided to look into interiors of other commercial and hospitality business. This is a shelving unit design i created from the lights in Tattu, Manchester. i have since began to develop this design with different techniques.
During this project I have also researched due to Manchester's textile heritage. This is a wall art design I created and sampled using the Collagraph printing technique.
This pattern I designed from the windows of the sexy fish restaurant in Manchester. I then turned it into a floor design for the AllSaint's store and have since developed thinking about colours and materials.
